This is the world of Nikhadakiera
Most spaceship stories center around well-armed
vessels, well-trained crews, and well-prepared leaders. But in
Nikhadakiera: The Improvisers,
the ship is new and untested, the crew is made up of self-taught amateurs,
and leader is Commander John Vance, a rash and reckless man who is unaware
of the dangers that lie beyond the reaches of the sun.

No one knew
where it came from. No one knew what it could do. And, truth be told,
no one cared. All that mattered was that it
yielded the blueprints to a futuristic starship that would finally allow
one small company of dreamers
to reach out
across the galaxy and venture
into the
unknown.
Ten years later,
the
ship, the ASEA Nikhadakiera leaves the Solar System and
sets off on Earth’s first interstellar mission. Led by the intrepid but
impulsive Commander John Vance, the crew
consists mainly of self-taught
novices who
are instructed by their eccentric boss to "get as far out there" as they
can. But a few hours into their journey, the ship is sucked into an
anomaly in space and stranded
in an unknown
galaxy.
Before they can even regain their balance,
the crew becomes unwittingly tangled
in a
battle
between two worlds, where they
ultimately play a larger role than anyone expected. They had come to
explore, but they end up fighting for their lives with no experience, no
preparation, and no clue…

M.S. Fan
lives in
Princeton, New Jersey near the university. At sixteen, she was in the
same mood when writing Nikhadakiera: The Improvisers that her
character, John Vance, was when he went into space: idealistic and
impulsive. Like John, she can neither undo her actions nor escape. Her
love for adventure and passion for reading had inspired her to write
Nikhadakiera: The Improvisers, an entertaining story that is as full
of rashness as she is. |
